Edward Lee Shirley

Edward LeeShirley, age 89, beloved husband of the late Juanita June Shirley, died onTuesday, September 27, 2016 at Covenant Place of Sumter.

Born inGreenfield, Indiana, he was the son of the late Leroy Shirley and Ethyl AndrewsShirley. Mr. Shirley was a US Army veteran and was retired from Kroger FoodCompany as a dispatcher. He previously resided in Greenfield, Indiana andAugusta, Georgia before moving to South Carolina. He was a proud member of TheLions Club International and was a member of the Wildwood Christian Church inAugusta, Georgia.

Survivingare: two sons, Steven Wayne Shirley and his wife Cynthia of Sumter, SC andJeffery Lynn Shirley and his wife Alice of Anderson, IN; one brother, RaymondShirley of Greenfield, IN; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren;

In additionto his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip EdwardShirley and Kevin Leroy Shirley; two sisters, Mary Jones and Margaret Bidwell;and one granddaughter, Stephanie Shirley.

Pallbearerswill be Gary Haynie, Gary Craig, David Craig, Jim Boughton, Chris Boughton, andGreg Maxwell. Honorary pallbearer willbe Camden Arnold.

Funeral serviceswill be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2016 at Flanner andBuchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with the Rev. Michael Morris of theIndianapolis First Church of The Nazarene officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 PMuntil service time.
