Edward 'ED' Lee Strycker

Edward "Ed" Lee Strycker, 79, of Indianapolis died March 29, 2015 after an arduous 12.5 year battle with cancer. Ed was born at home in Plymouth, IN, on April 22, 1935, to Everett Ralph and Opal Frances (Clawson) Strycker. Ed was an Engineer for GM for 30 years where he retired in 1991. Ed was a member of the Ben Davis Christian Church for 51 years. He was preceded in death by his sister Guenevere Flory. Calling will be held on Friday, April 03, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway 4 to 8 pm with additional calling on Saturday, April 04, 2015, beginning at 10 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am. There will be a graveside service at West Ridge Park Cemetery located at 21st street and Raceway Rd, Indpls, IN. Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, C. Sue (Chowning) Strycker, his children Karen (Mike) Cockrum, Kim (Pat) Blackburn and Tom (Melanie) Strycker, six grandchildren and two brothers Philip Strycker and Maurice "Maury" (Carolyn) Strycker. Memorial contributions may be given to the church (Ben Davis Christian). Pallbearers will be Jemi, Jeremy, and Kyle Powell, Alexander Joel "AJ" Cockrum, Kaylee and Conner Strycker, and Eddie Bopp. Funeral service will be directed by his longtime Pastor Jerry Williams.
