Edna D. Burdine Smallwood 79, of Avon, formerly of Indianapolis, died December 6, 2012. Edna worked as a bookkeeper for A&P in Speedway and Chapel Hill for 16 years, before becoming a school bus driver for Wayne Township Schools, retiring in 2003. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Smallwood. She was a member of Eagledale Baptist Church, which is now Cross Pointe Baptist Church. Edna is survived by her children, Peggy (Bob) Stover, Mike, Mark (Becky), Melvin (Lynda), and Matthew Smallwood; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Genis (Joyce), George (Donna) Burdine. Calling will be on Sunday, December 9, beginning at 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan - Speedway , followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in I.O.O.F.
