Edmundo Francisco Arauco was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away peacefully in his sleep of kidney complications on August 13, 2022 at the age of 79. Ed was born September 17, 1942 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He came to the United States in 1965 where he attended Purdue and Purdue Extension.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Albina Arauco, who passed July 27, 2015. Ed is survived by his wife, Penny Eisenhut, three children and six grandchildren.
Ed was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he actively attended and volunteered translating bulletins and materials for the Hispanic congregation. Ed enjoyed an active lifestyle including a life long love of tennis and swimming.
Ed retired from teaching Math and Spanish from IUPUI, Bishop Chatard High School, and Warren Township Renaissance School.
Services will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 7243 E. 10th Street on the corner of 10th and Sadlier on Monday August 22, 2022. There will be a time of public viewing from 10am to 11am, with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11am.
He will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
