Edgar Mccormick Roberts

Edgar McCormick Roberts, Jr. 79, of Indianapolis, passed away January 23, 2011. He was born August 4, 1931 to Edgar M. and Ruth (McCray) Roberts. Edgar “Ed” is a 1949 graduate of Shortridge High School and graduate of Indiana University in 1954. He worked 15 years at State Farm Insurance and retired from American States 25 years later. He served in the army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife Joyce of 37 years; two children, John and Elizabeth Roberts; two step sons, Charles and Daniel Freeman; two step daughters, Pamela Bolton and Jennifer Mirpoorian; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation for Ed will be held on Thursday, January 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, a funeral service will be held Friday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral center. A private entombment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
