Edgar L. Ransom

Edgar L. Ransom, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away May 8, 2012. He was born May 9, 1930 in Perry County, Indiana. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Fern; children: Pamela Ransom, Cheri (Dan) O'Mara, Greg(Teri) Ransom; grandchildren: Joshua(Megan) Ransom and Zachary Ransom; brothers: Russell(Gretta) Ransom, Magnus(Rossi) Ransom, Cedric(Virginia) Ransom; sister: Wanda Gillman. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law: Beverly Rodewald and Miriam Curran; brother – in-law : Charles(Joyce) Dorrel, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother: Charles Ransom, brothers – in-law: Dale Rodewald and Walt Curran. Edgar was retired from Nicholas Company. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking and many years of square dancing with Fern. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
