Edgar B. Searcy

Edgar B. Searcy, of Indianapolis, Indiana, departed this earthly plane and ascended to heavenly reward on November 20, 2015 at the age of 75 years. Born to Mary Dunnivan and Edgar B. Searcy Sr. At an early age the family moved from Birmingham, Alabama to Indiana where he attended the Indianapolis Public Schools. Edgar was a member of the Crispus Attucks High School Basketball team which won state championship in 1956. After graduating from Crispus Attucks High School he attended the University of Illinois and later graduated from Southern Illinois University. In 1993, Edgar was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

Edgar married his high school sweetheart, April Brown, and from this union three children were born. One son, Edgar Dwain and two daughters, Sherilyn and Andrea. Edgar was a loving husband and father who loved vacationing with his family and celebrating the Christmas Holiday.

In 1968, Edgar began a long and distinguished career with Eli Lilly & Company. During that time he also earned his CPA. He would later earn his Law Degree. He retired from Eli Lilly in 1991 and opened his law practice.

One of Edgar's passions was golf. He loved traveling and his golf clubs were always with him. His many golf buddies kept him involved in a round.

Sweet and loving memories will be cherished by his wife April, their three children, Sherilyn, Edgar, Andrea and daughter-in-law Becky Searcy.
