Earl M. 'Mark' Mcdaniel

Earl M. "Mark" McDaniel 92, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2015, at Autumn Hills Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Bloomington, Indiana. Mark, born February 2, 1923, the only son of the late Mr. Earl C. McDaniel and Sabina "Opal" McDaniel Harvey, was raised in Coatesville, Indiana. He is a proud alumnus of Amo High School, Class of 1941. Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anne, his parents and sisters. He is survived by his children: Martin, Doug, Marcia, and Marlyn; grandchildren: Sarah, D.J., Derek, Nicole, Elyse, and Melodie; great-grandchildren: Jonas, Riley, Evelynn, Bronwyn, Harmony, and Piper. Mark was self-employed as a cabinetmaker prior to his employment with Indianapolis Public Schools, from which he retired in 1985. He was also the founder and co-owner of McDaniel and Lloyd, Inc. Mark's primary hobby was photography. He and Anne enjoyed traveling to many places around the world, but their favorite was Las Vegas, their "home away from home." Mark was a member of Brookside Masonic Lodge #720, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine, Shrine Camera Club, and Zion United Church of Christ; former member of Ellenberger UCC and Centenary Christian Church. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII Corps of Engineers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 1pm at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with a Masonic Rites Service at 1:30 p.m. and funeral service beginning at 2pm, interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Indiana, 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
