Earl K. Scruggs

Earl K. Scruggs, 74 of Indianapolis went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2011. He retired from Lilly Industrial Coating after 37 years. Earl was a Trustee at Gethsemane Baptist Church, a Goodwill Adventurer, the King of yard sales and known in Mars Hill, as the lawn mower man. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; sister Maryann; brother, Hollis. Earl is survived by his bride of 53 years, Shirley Brooks Scruggs; their children, Kenneth (Donna) Scruggs, James (Carolyn) Scruggs, Donald Scruggs, Tonya (Steve) Davis; brother, Hubert (Marylee) Scruggs; sister, Doyle (Jerry) Howser; sister-in-law Louise Scruggs; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may pay their respects to the Scruggs family on Wednesday July 6, 2011 from 5 to 9 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Decatur Township. Funeral services will begin at 11AM Thursday July 7, 2011 also in the funeral center. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
