Earl Edward (Ed) Starr
72, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away March 15, 2014. He was born July 13, 1941 in Richmond, Indiana to Earl and Hazel Starr. He graduated from Richmond High School and went on to earn a bachelors degree at Purdue University. Ed was very involved and passionate with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a Scoutmaster for many years and earned the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. He was a Mason and belonged to the Southport Lodge. Ed worked 26 years at Boehringer Mannheim in Indianapolis. After retirement, he worked at Lee Supply, Johnstone Supply and Sears. Ed was also a member of Purdue Alumni Association, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the National Association of Purchasing Managers. Ed never met a stranger and enjoyed striking up a conversation whenever he could. He had a heart of gold that will be greatly missed. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Amie Starr; children David (Lori) Starr, Greg (Leonora) Starr, Becky Starr (Dorrie Hamm) and Kevin (Julie) Starr; grandchildren Zach, Adam, Nathan, Emily, Allison, Gabriel, Luke, Tyler & Olivia; brother William (Marilyn) Starr and a host of others.
