E. Louise (Flick) Castner
Mrs. Louise Castner, 88, who had resided in Zionsville, IN for more than 40 years, passed away Tue. June 5, 2012. She was born Sept. 25, 1923 in Holton, IN, the daughter of Opal and Fred Flick.
She graduated from Holton High School in 1941, and received her degree as a registered nurse in 1944 from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She then worked at Methodist Hospital and also as a private duty nurse.
Louise married William Lawless Castner, also of Holton, on Sept. 25, 1945 after his return from serving in the United States Air Force in World War II. Starting in 1968, Louise held the position of head nurse for the Westfield Washington school district, until her retirement nearly 20 years later.
She is survived by a son, Stephen L. Castner (Kathryn) of Cedarburg WI; daughter, Jennifer L. Struhs (Mark) of Chicago; grandchildren: Christopher, Brittany, Stephanie, and Matthew, and great-grandson, Ethan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2007 and her grandson Stephen W. Castner in 2006.
Visitation will be held at the Flanner and Buchanan, 105 W. Pine St., Zionsville on Tue., June 19, 2012 beginning at 5 pm followed by the service at 7 pm.
An open reception will be held at the Castner home immediately after the service. Burial will be at noon, Wed. June 20, 2012 at the cemetery in Holton, IN. Contributions in memory of Louise may be made to the Holton Cemetery Association through Flanner and Buchanan.
