Dwight M. “Skip” Armitage, Jr., age 62 of Greensburg passed away November 28, 2017. He was born October 21, 1955 in Butler County, Ohio to Dwight Sr and Geri Armitage who preceded him in death. He graduated from Decatur Central High School and attended Drury College. After 38 years as a Millwright, Skip retired from Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed working with his hands and made beautiful custom furniture. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved the Indianapolis Colts. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make others laugh.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Douglas Armitage, and brothers, Dave and Doug Armitage. Surviving to cherish his memory are his Fiance’, Anna Mingus, his children, Danielle Armitage, Jason (Nicki) Armitage, Kristina (Steven) Smith, and Darci (Eric) James, and step-son, Nick (Shelly) Gibson, his sisters, Tracy (Robert) Welker, and Tricia (Dave) Gressle and grandchildren, Elijah and Kaidenze.
Friends may visit from 2-6 PM Sunday at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. Contributions may be made in his name to the Indianapolis Chihuahua Rescue. Friends may sign Skip’s online guest registry at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
