Dwight Exzera Suggs

Dwight Exzera Suggs was born on August 16, 1946 in Wilmington, Delaware and passed away in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 12, 2014. Dwight was the oldest son of Exzera and Eva P. Suggs. Dwight graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1964 where he played saxophone and excelled in the school band and on the wrestling team. From 1966-1969, Dwight served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Dwight worked at Eli Lilly for 25 years and retired from Sallie Mae on 2001. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Veterans Administration. Among his love of sports and music, Dwight had a passion for Corvettes and owned several during his lifetime. He was a regular at the Circle City Classic and the Indianapolis 500. He was an avid animal lover and left a cat named Mozart who he loved and cared for. Dwight was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eva and Exzera Suggs. He is survived by his sisters, Paulette (Keith) Parker and JoAnn (Tony) Gray; brothers, Gary Suggs and Jeffrey (Laura) Suggs; cousin, Janet (Lennard) Ward; nephews, Gary, Gerry, Jeffrey Jr., Richard Suggs and Tony Gray, Jr.; and niece, Cristin Suggs along with other friends and relatives.
