Dwane M. Brewer, 69, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on February 17, 2018. He was born August 6, 1948 in Indianapolis to George and Hazel Brewer, the youngest of 7 children.

A lifetime Indiana resident, Dwane graduated from North Central High School in 1966. He joined the United States Army April 23, 1968, where he fulfilled his duties at Fort Dix in New Jersey. During his time with the Army, he spent 10 months overseas in Germany. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, as well as the Sharpshooter M14 badge. He married the love of his life, Harriette Brewer (Lewis) in 1972 and built his family. Family remembers him as a big teddy bear who was a loving, Godly man. He had the biggest heart and taught life lessons gently. He knew no stranger, was greatly supportive to anyone who needed him, and was the best listener. He was a retired bank branch manager but continued working various jobs to support his family; he was never too proud to do what it took to provide for his family. He led by example, teaching his children through his kind and gentle ways. He was the pillar of his family and will be missed by all who had the honor of meeting him.

Dwane is predeceased by his parents, the late George Brewer, the late Hazel Brewer (McCurdy); brothers, Hoyt, Myron (Mike), Meredith; sister, Clarice. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Harriette; children, Joe (Stephanie) Brewer, Tammy (Phil) Hendrickson, Randy White; sisters, Charlotte Foster, Phyllis Southerland; grandchildren, Shane, Erica, Johnathan, Meghan, Hayden, Camden, Bryson, Jaxson as well as a host of extended family and friends.
