Dr. Michael A. Kellams

Dr. Michael A. Kellams, 57, of Carmel passed away surrounded by his family on March 23, 2024.  He was born August 6, 1966, in Anderson, the son of Roger W. and Beverly (Snyder) Kellams.  He married Amy Willis on November 2, 1991.

Dr. Kellams is a proud alumnus of Indiana University where he earned his BS in Biological Studies; he then proceeded to Michigan State to earn his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. He found his way back to IU School of Medicine for post graduate education in anesthesia. Those who knew Mike know he bled cream and crimson. Go Hoosiers!

Dr. Kellams practiced medicine with Northside Anesthesia for 27 years, among many other medical accomplishments, such as serving as an expert witness on medical malpractice cases, traveling for medical missions trips, presenting at numerous conferences, and serving his local community, for example as a volunteer physician with Shepard Community Center. 

Outside of work, Dr. Kellams loved cars, music (rock and roll or U2 always a favorite), playing guitar at home or with his band “Rocky and the Rhythms”, going to the beach, being in the sunshine, cheering on the Hoosiers, playing card games, and most importantly spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Amy Kellams; four children, Braden Michael (Kylie) Kellams, Aaron W. Kellams, Emily Kellams, Lily Kellams; parents, Roger W. and Beverly Kellams; and nephew, Matthew W. (Rebekah) Kellams.  He was preceded in passing by his brother, Stephen W. Kellams, and grandparents Paul and Sylvia Kellams, and Wayne and Alva Snyder.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, and services at 11 am, Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road. Memorial contributions may be directed to the IU Foundation.
