Dr. Charles "Chic" Giffin

Dr. Charles “Chic” Giffin, 94 of Carmel, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024.  Charles was born October 20, 1929 in Biloxi, Mississippi to the late James E. and Lorna Giffin.  He was a veteran of the US Army.

Charles practiced as an Ear, Nose and Throat physician for 46 years, retiring in 2009.

Charles was very generous, compassionate, and kind. He was a loyal fan of The University of Michigan. Charles was interested in hunting, fishing and golf.

He was a member of The Indiana Medical Society, The American Medical Association, The American Board of Otolaryngology and The American Association of Cosmetic Surgeons.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Sally Erkes (Andrew), Wendy Giffin, Leslie Giffin; Stepsons, Fred Derheimer (Tifany), Ted Derheimer (Kristen); grandchildren, Abby and Eli Erkes, Annemarie, Freddy and Lucas Derheimer; sister, Susan Campbell.

A funeral service was held on January 25, 2024 in Lakewood Cemetery, Rocky River, Ohio.
