Douglas Wayne Madry, born August 20, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, was called home to be with Jesus on July 5th, 2025, in Wylie, Texas.
His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. Doug is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Debbie Madry; his eldest son, Jason Madry, and his wife, Sara; and his second son, Jared Madry, and his wife, Kelly. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Ava, Emma, Jackson, Kate, Miles, Harper, and Linkin, as well as his beloved pets, Max and Maggie. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patty and Dana Madry; his youngest son, Jevon Madry; and his parents, Charles and Joanne Madry.
Doug graduated from North Central High School in Nora, Indiana, before starting his career at Marsh Supermarket. He later devoted many years of service to the U.S. Post Office, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.
Doug’s life was filled with simple joys- music, bowling, golf, playing poker, and watching TV shows with his son Jevon. He especially cherished spending time with family, playing games, attending his grandchildren’s school and sports events, and sharing his love for football with anyone who would listen. Doug’s ashes will be returned to Indiana, where he will be laid to rest alongside his cherished Colts memorabilia.
May his memory continue to be a blessing.
