Dorwin Earl Whitis Whitey-

Dorwin Earl Whitis “Whitey”, 73 of Indianapolis, passed away September 28, 2017. Whitey, as he was commonly known, worked at WABCO and Olin Brass as a machinist. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union before retirement. He was a loving husband, an amazing father and an adored grandfather.

Dorwin was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Alva Whitis and daughter, Kathy Whitis.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Sandra (Cubel) Whitis; daughter, Rhonda Owensby; son, Brian (Diana) Whitis; sister, Belinda (Charlie) Stennett; grandchildren, Stephanie Whitis-Call, Amber Hall, Christopher Whitis, Brittnay Hess, Logan Whitis, and Jordan Whitis; great-Grandsons, Alexander and Brandon; and two nieces. He was crazy about his family and would do anything with them.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 4-8PM and Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 11-12PM with a service immediately following at noon. All will be held at Flanner Buchanan—Floral Park.
