Dorris Mae Deig

Dorris Mae Deig, 83, Carmel, went home to be with the Lord July 27, 2023. She was born on February 25^th, 1940 in Alzey, KY to Herbert Smith Jr. and Ruby Dorris (Utley) Smith.  She leaves behind her high school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, Daryl E. Deig.  Their example of love and her passion for the Lord will be a legacy to her family and friends.

During her life, Dorris spent many years as an RN, graduating from the Protestant Deaconess Hospital in August, 1961. Dorris was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt.  She gave her all to her family and through her strong faith was always supporting those in need.

Survivors include her husband, Daryl; children Danelle Klinker (Jerry), Darren Deig; granddaughters Abigail and Madison Klinker; and sister Lorene Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday August 1^st at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. Celebration of Life will begin there at 12:00 pm.
