Dorothy Powers Shull
92, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 25, 2016 after a recent head injury and a long happy life. She was the only child of Wayne and Loretta (Behringer) Pace. Dottie was a St. Agnes Academy graduate and attended Indiana University where she studied Textile and Design. Dottie’s sense of wonder never diminished with age or circumstance and is a gift she leaves her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Brooks Powers and her husband of 26 years R.K. Shull, a longtime syndicate columnist for the Indianapolis Star and News. Dottie is survived by children, Sandra Dyson, Brooks (Paula), Pamela and Parris (Karen) Powers; step-daughters, September and Bambi Shull; grandchildren, Dorian (Christine) Dyson, Shawn (Jenn) Powers, Savannah Burgess and Audrey Krajec; great-grandson, Liam Powers; niece, Judy Nichols, and beloved Leggitt and Behringer cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 520 Stevens St. Indianapolis, IN, 46203 with a private interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
