Dorothy N. Reynolds

Dorothy peacefully entered Heaven in the early morning of Tuesday, June, 7, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born on March 14, 1925 in Harrison County, IN, to Shelby and Vangie Callaway Neff, and was the eldest of eleven children. Growing up in Southern Indiana during the Depression she moved to Indianapolis to live with her Aunt Cora in order to work and finish high school. She got a job at RCA and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.
Dorothy married Jack Reynolds in 1947 and they had three children. They loved spending time with their many hobbies and family activities of boating, camping, fishing and flying.
A skilled seamstress; talented in making everything from wedding gowns, to draperies, to airplane upholstery she retired from the alterations department at Lazarus and then returned to work in the alterations department for Jacobson’s. The many friendships of her co-workers were an important part of her life.
Her love and faith in Christ strong, she was a charter member of Christ’s Community Church in Fishers.
She is survived by her son, Jerry, daughter, Ruth Charles-Myers (fiancée Michael Beck); grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Reynolds, Caelum Roberts, Cati (Cole) Wehrle, Carrie (Matt Lamoureux) Morris, Jesse and Christopher Charles; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilma Gill, Kathleen Sneed, Judy Sparkman, Gen Neff, many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friend, Bill Charles, and Terry Reynolds.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 65 years, Jack, son, David, son-in-law, Robert Myers, infant grandson, Dennis Reynolds and siblings, Leonard and Lawrence Neff, Una Brown, Hazel Ward, Juanita Owens, and Betty Ellen.
Family and friends are going to dearly miss Dorothy for her abundant love, tremendous generosity, impeccable memory, and enlightening stories.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 12 from 2-5 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Chapel, at Flanner and Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Fishers with funeral services Monday at 11:00 a.m.
