Dorothy M. Chase
83 of Carmel, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013. Dorothy was born May 14, 1930 in Chicago to the late Frederick and Agnes Bullock. She retired from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where she taught sixth grade, after which she was a proof reader for the Indiana Legislature.
Dorothy was a gifted artist and was a member of several organizations including the Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage Arts, Indiana Artists Club, Inc., Hamilton County Artist Association and the Water Color Society of Indiana. She was also a master gardener and an active supporter of the symphony.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 5 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, November 4 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel.
Dorothy was the widow of Richard A. Chase. She is survived by her children, Pamela (Bruce) Newell, Patricia (Rick) Conniff and David (Debra) Chase; grandchildren, Elizabeth Newell, Andrew Newell, Sarah (Tom) Szybowski, Katie (Jacob) Krouse, Michael Chase and Megan Chase; great granddaughter, Adrianne Greene; sister, Arlene Kummer.
Memorial contributions may be made to, the American Cancer Society or CMF (Christian Missionary Fellowship) in care of the funeral home for 2 children she was sponsoring in Nairobi, Kenya.
