Dorothy H. Swango

Dorothy Hollis Swango 90, Pahrump, NV, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away August 11, 2012. Dorothy was born on November 26, 1921 in Avoca, IN to the late, Robert Vincent and Amanda Jane Porter. She was employed with All State Insurance, retiring in the early 1980's. Dorothy loved having large Christmas parties with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She was a great cook and several of her recipes were published in the Star newspaper. Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Henry Vincent Swango and David Michael Swango; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene R. Swango. Services for Dorothy will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana, Development Office, 435 Limestone St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
