Dottie Sue Robinson was born to Richard and Barbara Nierste on December 24, 1956. Dottie passed away peacefully in her home from complications with breast cancer on June 29th, 2024. Most of her life Dottie lived in Brownsburg and attended Brownsburg High School where she met the love of her life, Barry Robinson, they were married August 1975.
She is survived by her husband Barry, Sister Debbie (Chris), Daughters Gretchen (Brad), Whitney (Jonathan), Granddaughters Lylah, Briley, Brittyn, and countless extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother David Nierste.
She cherished her grandchildren and was their biggest fan and supporter. She attended every sporting event and spent countless hours doing crafts, playing games, and laying a foundation of the importance of family. She also had a deep love for painting, pottery, crafting, gardening, hiking, and traveling.
She worked at Hollett & Harmon from the time she was 16 and this paved her way into her career in Pharmacy. She graduated from Butler University in 1988 as full-time student, employee and mother while earning her degree in Pharmacy. She happily served her community as a pharmacist for 34 years and was admired and loved by her colleagues.
She volunteered at the Hendricks County Historical Museum in her retirement found joy in helping others by giving back via many charitable outlets both locally and globally. Anyone who knew Dottie knows that she had a giving heart of gold. She was a positive and selfless bright light with the very best sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, our lives are better for having known her.
We welcome any of you that knew her to join us at her celebration of life at The Browny on 25 S. Green Street in Brownsburg on Friday, July 5th from 2-5pm. If you would like to share a special memory or story, we will have special remarks from 4-4:30.
