Dorothy D. Lacey Passed away on November 7, 2010. Dorothy was born in Fitchburg, MA on August 2, 1919 to William E. and Evelyn Daulton. She is survived by her husband, Howard R. Lacey, Sr., son, Howard R. Lacey, Jr. (wife Sally) of Avon, IN, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet H. Lacey Waninink (husband John), her parents, two sisters Helen and Myrtle and four brothers George, Waldo, Edward and Jack. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and American International College, Springfield, MA. On August 23, 1947 she married Howard R. Lacey, also of Fitchburg, MA. The couple located in Bridgeton, NJ, where their children were born. She was a substitute teacher in the Bridgeton School System and a Sunday school teacher at their church, Central Methodist Church. She furthered her education with teaching courses at Glassboro State College, Glassboro, NJ. She was active in Girl Scouts a member of Cohanzick Country Club. In 1967 the family moved to New Castle, IN. She was a teacher at St Anne’s Elementary School. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and Westwood Country Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of New Castle. She was Secretary/Treasurer of LACEY ASSOCIATES, INC.-Consultants to the food processing industry, for ten years and a volunteer at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame for ten years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. Her favorite tour: China; her favorite cruise: Mediterranean Sea. She also enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, swimming and walking. In 2001, she and her husband, Howard, relocated to the Franklin United Methodist Community, a retirement home. A memorial service at FUMC is pending. Interment and graveside services will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery, Fitchburg, MA, conducted by Rev. Robert Daulton, nephew of the deceased. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway.
