Dorothy "Dotty" M. Cottongim

Mrs. Dorothy “Dotty” May (Childress) Cottongim 85 of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on Sunday June 02, 2024 with family at her side.  Dotty was born in Nashville, Tn on November 20, 1938 to James and Emma (Horton) Childress.  Dotty was a stay at home housewife and mother who devoted her life to raising her family.   She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Cottongim.  Calling will be held on Wednesday June 05, 2024 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway from Noon to 1 pm followed by the funeral service for Dotty at 1 pm.  Dotty is survived by her loving children; Vicki (Bob) Black, Pamala (Bill) Keehner, Eugene “Rick” Paxton, Michael (Spouse Dave Lockwood) Paxton, Kathleen “Kathi” Apple, Scott Apple, Eric, Ryan and Gary Cottongim, four grandchildren one great grandchild and another great grandchild to arrive any day now.  Dotty will be laid to her earthly rest at St Malachy North cemetery next to Harold Cottongim.  Online condolences and a video tribute may be viewed at www.flannerbuchanan.com
