Dorothy Snell, 87, of Madison, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away June 27th, 2022. She was born February 21st, 1935 in Linton, Indiana to parents Hallie and Edna (Jeffries) Bland.
Dorothy graduated from Arsenal Tech High school.
In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Snell. They shared 52 wonderful years together. Bill passed away in 2004.
A very hard worker, Dorothy worked as a secretary for Klein and Kuhn Law offices for 12 years. She then worked at Community East Hospital for 15 years. Upon retiring, she stayed busy with volunteer work, primarily at St. Francis Hospital for many years.
She was a valued member of Ellenberger United Church of Christ.
Dorothy was a loving, vibrant woman with a huge heart. She was a natural caregiver and people-person. Family was paramount for Dorothy, and she always loved cheering for her children and grandchildren at their sporting events.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Gary R. (Brenda) Snell and Billie R. (Tammy) Snell II; Grandchildren Michael P. Snell, Lindsay N Mock, Jessica M. Score, Jamie L. Baker; great-grandchildren Addison, Kaylee E., Mason, Hannah, Layla, and a new baby boy on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Bill, her sister Recarda Coakley, and brother Norman Bland.
