Dorothy Louise Butcher

Dorothy Louise Butcher passed away on October 6, 2023, in Carmel, IN.  

Dorothy had a full life as a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher of the deaf and advocate for the Right to Life and Little Sisters of the Poor.  

Dorothy is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Robert Butcher and her three children Kathy Arnold, Karen Carter, and Robert J Butcher. She is also grandmother to Joe, Drew, Kate, Adam, Lucas, Sophie, Alex, Mayson and great-grandmother to Mae. She joins her parents, two brothers and three sisters in heaven as well as many favorite aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  

Family was an important part of Dorothy’s life as was her Irish heritage. The unkind ailment of dementia invaded Dorothy’s last few years.  However, her legacy of helping others, living a faith-driven life, and being an exceptional loving caring person will always be remembered. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Little Sisters of the Poor or Right to Life are appreciated.
