Dorothy Joan Blackwood

Dorothy Joan Blackwood, 86, passed away April 16, 2024.

She was born on June 12, 1937, to Oscar and Dorothy Pence. 

She is survived by her children, Deanna Fritzinger (Damon) and Bradley Blackwood; Grandchildren, Dustin (Sky), Brandon, Candice, Courtney, Brian, and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Brandi, Alex, Sirius, Kya, Esme, Tyli, and Sparrow; and her dear friend, Kathy Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Blackwood; her son William Blackwood; and her parents.  

Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46221, with burial to follow in West Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service. 

As a final sentiment to Joan, please do not send flowers, only plants. Otherwise, she will sit up in her casket and start sneezing.
