Dorothy I. Black, age 77, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 4, 2025, following complications from open-heart surgery. She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Black, father Orville Black and two nieces Cindy Perry and Cheri Hatzell. Born on October 17, 1947, Dorothy was a devout Christian whose faith was the cornerstone of her life and a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Dorothy had a truly big heart—both in spirit and in the way she lived her life. She was deeply loved by her sisters Rosemary (John) Raymer and Alice (Richard) Hatzell, Pat Kinser White (Andrew), Linda (Doug) Warren, Jenny (Trent) Jones and was a devoted aunt to her two nieces, Suzzi and Gina Broyles, and two nephews, Tim and David Broyles, showering them with warmth, guidance, and endless affection. She was also a proud great-aunt to five great-nieces, four great-nephews, and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy and love. Known for her gentle demeanor and extraordinary capacity for kindness, Dorothy lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her legacy of love and service will continue to touch the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
