Dorothy Alena Allen, age 94 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday night, May 5th 2023 at the home of her daughter.
Dorothy was born on April 7, 1929 in West Baden, Indiana to Elvis E Bledsoe and Cynthia (Hopper) Bledsoe Hooten.
She married Charles “Duke” Allen on August 18, 1946 in French Lick, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 9th, 1990.
Dorothy is survived by: Her brother Larry Bledsoe, daughter Sharon Allen Clark, granddaughter Andrea Clark, great-grandaughters Sarah Alena Robinson and Maegan Clark, great- grandsons Dakota Clark and Corbin Clark and her much-anticipated great-great granddaughter Kamara Alena. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by: Her husband Duke, brother Arnold Bledsoe and sister Peggy Stackhouse as well as her grandson Ronnie Clark Jr.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:30 PM also at the Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center.
Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery where Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband Charles.
