Cleon Womock, 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of his family. Born on August 23, 1941, in Arkansas, Cleon lived a long, honorable, and hardworking life rooted in devotion to family, service, and craftsmanship.
Cleon loved basketball and played during his high school years in Arkansas. He also proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Midway during the Korean War - a period he remembered with deep pride. His love for the Navy stayed with him throughout his life. After completing his military service, he spent many dedicated years working for Chrysler, where he eventually retired.
Cleon is survived by his beloved wife, Glenna Womock of Indianapolis; his children Deloris Womock of Indianapolis, Randall Womock of Indianapolis, Tonya Matherly of Cambridge City, and Kimberly Borst of Noblesville; grandchildren Scott Bates, Nicole Borst, Jacob Bates, and Danielle Borst; and great-grandson Brayden Ibarra.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Womock; his mother Etta Johnston; his father William Dee Warmack; sisters Clara Smith and Hester Altom; and brother Virgil Womock.
Visitation will take place at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) on July 29, 2026, from 5 - 7 pm. The following day, July 30, 2026, at 11 am, family and friend will gather again at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East for funeral services followed by a military funeral at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Cleon will be remembered for his steady presence, his service to his country, and the deep love he held for his family.
