Doris V. Cotton

Doris Cotton, 86, of Indianapolis, took her place with our Lord on Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011. She was a graduate of Howe High School in 1943, a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing in 1946 where she obtained her Registered Nursing Degree, and received her RN License in 1947. Doris faithfully devoted her nursing career at Riley Children's Hospital and Methodist Hospital. She was a devout Christian woman whose faith was evident in how she unselfishly cared for others. Doris is survived by 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and her husband of 63 yrs. Anyone who has ever known Doris has been truly touched and loved by God. Doris Vivian Cotton will always be treasured in our hearts. Her memories will leave a lasting impression, and we will love her forever…………In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the Church of the Nativity. Family and friends may attend the viewing at Church of the Nativity located on 7300 N. Lantern Rd., Indianapolis, IN from 4-7p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2011. The funeral will be held at Church of the Nativity at 11a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011. Doris will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
