Doris Ann Emily, 86, of Seminole, Florida, passed away on June 20, 2025. Doris was born in Northville, Michigan, on March 4,1939.

After she married her husband, Harry, they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she spent most of her life. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, homemaker, and an active member of Northside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Emily, her brothers Tommy McAvoy, Teddy McAvoy, and her granddaughter Kaitlin’s husband, Nicholas Cathcart.

She is survived by her sons, Richard (Wilma), Randall (Cyndi), and Ronald (Kathy) Emily; grandchildren, Kaitlin Cathcart and Christopher (Evelyn) Emily; great-grandchildren Ian Shaw, Simon Cathcart, and Harry J. Emily. She is also survived by her sisters Sally McAvoy, Laura McAvoy, and her brother Robert McAvoy. Doris was very proud of her many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She lovingly called them her “bonus family”.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 12 pm with calling from 10 am at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens at 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. A graveside service will follow. Please join the family for a Celebration of Life luncheon following the services.
