Donna Wiechman

Our Mom, Donna Jean Long Wiechman, 92, Carmel, IN, was called home March 14, 2024. Donna was born September 25, 1931, to Robert and Mildred (Whitmeyer) Long of Logansport, IN and Carmel, IN.

Donna leaves behind a legacy cherished by her survivors; five children: Toni Jean Riddle (Steve), Janice Davis (Jim), Sandy Johnson (Mark), William Weichman (Karen), and Julia Wilson (Henry); six grandchildren: James Ryan Davis, Jessica Davis Summitt, Emily Weichman Hurley, Ashley Weichman Donner, Lucas Wilson, and Jenna Wilson (Zack); seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Long) Layman; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Carroll Beagle, ex-husband, Will Weichman, parents, Robert and Mildred Long, sister, Alma (Long) Kuszmaul, and brother, Larry Long.

Donna’s life was a testament to love and service. Donna was a dedicated homemaker for her family, and she later served as a school secretary for five years before embarking on a remarkable 30-year journey as a sales representative with McMahon Food Company. Donna found joy in her faith and attended College Park Church. Donna was a creative and engaged mother who was a meticulous seamstress and loved to travel and dance. Donna also learned to walk on stilts at a young age, and later in life showed off this ability with lots of laughter. Donna loved to have fun and laugh. Donna loved life.

Retirement only marked a new chapter for Donna as she became a devoted volunteer at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. Donna poured her heart into her family, actively participating in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna’s warmth, kindness, and commitment to others will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Donna’s children would like to thank the staff and caregivers at The Restoracy of Whitestown for their care of Donna these past few years.

In honoring the memory of Donna, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love and joy that will continue on in the hearts of those she touched. A Celebration of Life is planned for Donna on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 1 – 3pm at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46250.
