Donna Jean Sheline

Donna Jean Sheline, 72, of Carmel, IN, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, surrounded by her family. 

Donna was born May 9, 1952, in Laurel, IN, to Edd William Spears and Mary Kathryn (Martin) Spears, both deceased. She married Steve Sheline on June 27, 1998, and he survives.

Donna retired from Chase Bank in 2009, having spent over twenty-three years in the mortgage industry, focusing on community advocacy and home preservation. She served on several boards and committees and received numerous awards and accolades, including the Trailblazer award from Central Indiana Realtist Association and the Prism Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Donna enjoyed reading, painting, traveling, and spending time at Lake Wawasee or anywhere else where the sand is soft and the beaches sunny. But her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. 

Survivors include her husband; daughters Mary (Zach) SeRine of Westfield, IN, Marena Gammons of Westfield, IN, and Jennifer (Jason) Snyder of Rochester, IN; grandchildren Ethan SeRine, Rowan SeRine, Ryder Humphress, Tate Humphress, Riplee Snyder, Piper Snyder, and Benning Snyder; sisters Peggy (Frank) Loyd and Mary Lou Hoggatt, both of Indianapolis, IN; ex-husband Roger Gammons of Rochester, IN; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Linda (Spears) Hendrickson and Brenda (Spears) Sutton, brothers James Spears and William Spears, and niece Kimberly Sutton. 

Those who knew and loved Donna can attest to her generosity, independent spirit, strong opinions, easy laughter, and boundless love for her family and friends. She was a truly amazing woman and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park at the Prairie Waters Funeral and Event Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 10am at SS Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis, IN. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
