Donna Joy Nixon

Donna Joy Nixon of Salem, Indiana, formerly of Franklin, Indiana passed away on September 3, 2026, at 81 years of age. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 15, 1944, to the late Donald F. and Josephine Grace (Moore) Luckett. Donna served as a QMA for the Methodist Home in Franklin, Indiana before returning to running her own home. She enjoyed crocheting, handicrafts, her cats and dogs, riding in the truck with her beloved husband Bill, spending time with family, and was an award-winning poet. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Arney, Michael (Sadie) Arney, Joseph Arney, daughter-in-law, Carrie Arney, stepchildren, Jed (Kim) Nixon, Amber (Kevin) McIninch, Andrew (Amanda) Nixon, 12 grandchildren, Phillip, Paul, Levi, Addy, Josie, Christian, Tosha, Alyssa, Trent, Raven, Kyle, and Hannah, several great grandchildren, and sisters, Carol Orff, and Margie Bolt. Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William R. “Bill” Nixon, and her son, Ronald Arney. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with her Funeral Service being held at 4:00pm there. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Bill, in the future at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
