Donna K. Adkins

Donna K. Adkins, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away June 5^th, 2021. She was born October 14^th, 1945, in Shelbyville, to parents William and Julia (Phillips) Rose.

Donna graduated from Southwestern High School and continued her education at Indiana Business College. Donna later graduated with a degree in accounting from University of Indianapolis.

On March 10^th, 1984, in Shelbyville, she married the love of her life, Virgil Adkins. They shared 8 wonderful years together.

She worked as an Accounts Payable Specialist at Beaty Construction for over 30 years, a job she loved and excelled at.

Donna was a strong, hardworking woman with a big heart. She was a valued member of Christian Life Church, where she served as the treasurer for several years. In her free time, Donna loved reading and watching Jeopardy. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Donna will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her sister Rosetta (Alan) Melvin; nieces and nephews William (Danielle) Melvin, Gabriel Melvin, and Eleanor (Samuel) Schaller; great-nephews Lucas and Liam Melvin; and numerous cousins.

Besides her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her sister, Marlene Rose.

Visitation for Donna will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, Saturday June 19^th, from 12pm-2pm. Her funeral service will begin at 2pm. Donna will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
