Donna Jean Reid Pierce

Donna Jean Reid Pierce age 81 and born in Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012. She is the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Rugh) Reid. Donna is preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Richard and Donald Reid. She was a graduate from George Washington High School and grew up on the Westside of Indianapolis. She married her loving husband Ed Pierce in May of 1950. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past May. From this union were born 3 children, Gerry Steven, Nancy Lynn and Christy Ann. Donna enjoyed being with her family, cooking and always trying new recipes, planting and taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds as her and Ed would keep those bird feeders full. She enjoyed dancing and being with friends, playing cards and family vacations. Donna always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She was a strong willed woman and never complained to anyone about herself. She was a listener and not a complainer. She had a great wit about her and we always enjoyed hearing her laugh. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed being around them. Donna leaves to cherish her memory her husband Ed Pierce, children Gerry Steven (Sandy) Pierce, Nancy (Steve) Haberman, and Christy Pierce. She leaves 3 grandchildren, Steven E. (Heather) Haberman, Jonathan L. (Leslie) Pierce, and Alison G. (fiancée Andre Miles) Haberman. Also, 7 great-grandchildren, Alexandra "Lexi", Isabella "Bella", Sofia and Colton Haberman, and Destineé, D'Andre, and Ashton Miles. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 with visitation prior to service from 1-3pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur.
