Donald James Vallier, affectionately known as Don, passed away on November 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at Little Sisters of the Poor in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on August 5, 1927, in St. Ignace, Michigan, and lived a life characterized by his deep faith, love for family, and a commitment to service.

Don's career was marked by many achievements, notably receiving the Marketing Achievement Award in 2015 for his hard work in sales at General Motors, a position he dedicated many years to. He was a proud graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in public communication while also earning a Varsity letter for fencing. Don utilized the GI Bill to pursue his education after his valiant service in the Army during World War II, where he was stationed in the Philippines and Japan, playing the trumpet in the military band.

Throughout his life, Don was not only known for his professional accolades but also for his vibrant personality. He was an outgoing jokester who loved telling stories and sharing laughter. His passion for music, especially his fondness for Frank Sinatra, accompanied him throughout his days. After retiring, Don found joy in performing at numerous nursing homes, leaving a legacy of music and joy in the hearts of many, particularly at Little Sisters, where he spent his final days.

Family was at the heart of Don's life. He cherished gatherings during the Holidays, creating lasting memories with his loved ones. Don is survived by his four children, Mike Vallier (wife Shari Vallier), Alison Sears (husband Chuck), Keith Vallier (wife Christina), and Stephen Vallier (wife Treva). He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Scott Sears (wife Emily and children: Hudson, Dawson, Bennett, Lainey), Megan Mason (husband Ben and children: Jonah, Thomas, Joseph), Morgan Owen (husband Matt), Savanna Christie (husband Sam and daughter Layla), Carolyn Schultz (husband Mike and daughter Elle), Casey Vallier (wife Mackenzie and children: Carter, Hadley, and Mason), Nick Vallier, and Nolan Vallier (wife Isabella).

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myrna Vallier, and his siblings: brothers Lyle, Henry, and Gary, as well as sisters Gail, Norma, and Carol. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Brenda Taylor.

A visitation in honor of Don will be held on November 20, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at the Little Sisters of the Poor, located at 2345 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.

Donald James Vallier's life was a testament to love, service, and deep faith. He leaves behind cherished memories that will resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue through his family and the countless lives he touched with his music and kindness.
