Donald Eugene Sweet was born on Saturday, December 13, 1941, and entered final rest on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
He graduated from Speedway High School. Donald served with the Marines and was a Speedway Police Officer for about four years.
Don met his wife by accident. She ran into his parked car in front of his house. Donald married Susan E. Hayden in December 1966. They had 51 years together until her passing in 2018. They had one child, John. Donald said his best day ever was “when my son was born.”
Don worked in management and retail sales for about 30 years, moving several times in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan to be store manager for S. S. Kresge, Jupiter, and Kmart. He enjoyed fishing, the shooting range, and writing. As his eyesight worsened, he would listen to sermons and gospel music. Don called himself a clown because he loved to use self-deprecating humor. Interesting facts, Donald could play the piano and did a few paintings. One of the important roles Don listed is being a child of God. He was asked “what advice would he give his younger self.” His answers: “seek truth” and “you’re not in charge.” He will be fondly remembered for his sweet humming and soft smile.

Sweet’s Disposition
Faith is the substance of what we are made of as believers. Faith is our internal strength by which we fly. Faith is how we overcome impossible things. And Jesus looking upon them saith, with men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. So remember, believe, hope, and keep your faith activated.
