Donald Schanz

Donald Schanz, 83 of Indianapolis passed away July 25, 2013. Don was born September 13, 1929 to Andrew and Helen Duncan Schanz. He proudly served his country in the US Army, was a member of the Local Teamsters 135 and retired truck driver with Trans Con Truck Lines. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronald Schanz. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Beverly Hutton Schanz, children Mark (Laurie) Schanz, Penny (Edward) Coss-Jordan, Lorrie Schanz and Christina Rader, brothers AJ and Floyd Schanz and half-sister Sharon Schanz, grandchildren; April (Alex) Kolb, Kyle (Jessie) Pendygraft, Aaron (Rachel) Coss, Matthew Coss, Melissa Coss, Makaela Rader and Hannah Rader, great grandchildren; Emmaray, Oliver, Rhyan, Reese, Aleisia, Virginia, Emily and Hunter and 2 on the way. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur. The funeral will be Monday at 10 AM at the funeral center followed by entombment with Military Honors at Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
