Donald Richard Perkins 84, passed peacefully February 8th, 2012. He was born July 3,1927 in Fishers to the late Kenneth and Mabel Perkins. Don played football and ran track at Lawrence Central High School, continuing to follow their athletics long after his graduation in 1947. He is survived by Elizabeth, his wife of 62 years; children, Bruce (Linda) Perkins, Diane Parsons, Cynthia Perkins, Alan (Marilyn) Perkins, and Francine Napariu; six grandchildren, Sarah and Kyle Parsons, Beth Perkins, John, Joe and Sonya Napariu; and a brother, Marion (Phyllis). He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Rosie Perkins.
Don loved to travel, following his retirement after 42 years from Indianapolis Power and Light. He enjoyed his life to the fullest and accepted all challenges presented to him. He and Elizabeth visited Alaska, Israel and Egypt, as well as their annual journey to St. Petersburg, FL. He was a member of Lawrence and Castleton United Methodist Church with years spent frying fish at the annual Fish Fry.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 10 from 3-8 PM at Castleton United Methodist Church, 7160 Shadeland Station. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 11 at 11 AM at Castleton United Methodist Church, with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Castleton United Methodist Church.
