Donald L. Ley, 77, of Indianapolis left this Earth and went to his Maker on February 26, 2024. Donald was born on November 11, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents, Joseph and Florence Ley. Donald graduated from Purdue University with an Electrical Engineering degree. Upon graduation, Donald selflessly enlisted in the United States Air Force and dutifully served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus in Indianapolis. Donald’s expert skills were unmatched on the Euchre table. He also enjoyed woodworking. He could best be remembered for his sarcastic wit. Donald never failed to captivate a room with his stories. He will be missed sorely by all the lives he has touched.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, and Florence Ley, and his brother, Dennis Ley.
He is survived by his brothers, Glynn (Carol) Ley and Larry (Susan) Ley, and 8 nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Don”.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 12pm-2pm at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 2PM. Donald will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
