Donald Lee Hughes, 74, of Brownsburg, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011. He was born on June 21, 1936 in Indianapolis to Orville and Mary (Thomas) Hughes. Don had a passion for all cars and was an avid collector of nostalgic autos. He was the owner of the Speedway Body Shop and Speedway Car Sales for 39 years. Don was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Connection Pointe Church in Brownsburg. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marilyn (Dodson) Hughes; children, Deborah Cragen, Randall (Tiffany) Hughes, Benjamin (Rachel) Hughes, Mary (Ted) Hughes-Tubbs, Candy Hughes-Hess; step-children, Melanie Harl, Todd (Becky) Eilar and Amber Marshall. Don also leaves behind 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Pauline Stiko. He was preceded in death by brothers, Phillip Hughes and Kenneth Hughes; and sister Jeanette Hughes. Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 11am. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 until 8pm, also at the funeral home. Entombment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
