Donald M. Johnson

Donald Maxwell Johnson of Indianapolis was born on October 2, 1928 and passed peacefully on January 30, 2026 to meet his Lord and Savior. He was 97 years old.

Don spent the bulk of his working career in sales. He worked as a Fuller Brush salesman and a life insurance broker for several companies. Don was a vital part of the Eastside Rotary Club for over 20 years. Don was an active member of East 38th Street Christian Church and Post Road Christian Church. He served as an elder and in senior care ministry. Don and his wife Aileen enjoyed traveling to many countries and several mission trips during their lifetime.

Don was a very devoted and loving family man. He was a caring and compassionate man to everyone he met. Don touched the heart of everyone he knew in a special way. He was a helper to all, always sharing a smile and a corny joke. He lived to make people happy.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Aileen, his parents Virginia Klitzke and Elbert Johnson. Sisters Linda Brinkman and Barbara Frye. He is survived by daughters Susan McCullough (David) of Greenfield, Indiana, Beverly Jennings {Irving) of Shelbyville, Indiana and his son Frederick Johnson (Patricia) of New Palestine, Indiana. He had 8 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Road, Indianapolis, Indiana from 12:00-2:00pm. Funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00pm with internment at Washington Park East Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Post Road Christian Church.
