Donald J. 'Don' Hibbert, Jr.

Donald J. “Don” Hibbert, Jr., 67, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

He was born on September 12, 1949 in Indianapolis as the eldest son to the late Donald J. Hibbert, Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” Ruth (Myers) Hibbert. Don was a 1967 graduate of Scecina High School. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 -1970 with a 2 year tour in Vietnam. He worked in steel and automotive manufacturing; retiring in 2013 after 13 years of service with Chrysler. Don enjoyed fishing, golfing, shooting at the local gun range and he especially loved to travel with his family. Don will be remembered as a good, strong and witty man who enjoyed helping others.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Connie (Crouse) Hibbert; children, Julie (Eric) Adams and Donnie (Tonya) Hibbert III; 6 grandchildren, Corrine, Donnie IV, Hailey, Courtney, Aaron and Zachary. Don is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Schrader, Nancy (Dave) Nemecek, Steve (Becky) Hibbert, Theresa Welhoelter, Ed (Debbie) Hibbert, Phyllis Trowbridge and Mark (Paula) Hibbert; sisters-in-law, Kay and Theresa Hibbert. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joe, Ray and Jackie Hibbert.

Visitation for Don will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East from 4 -8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held inside the funeral home on Saturday at 11am, with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial with Military honors will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will be held immediately following the burial at the VFW on Pendleton Pike. Memorial contributions may be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
