Donald Hugh Paff Sr., 80 went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2011. He was born on October 10, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Matthew Hugh and Beryl (Orrell) Paff. He was married to Carol Ann (McClarren) Paff on November 5, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN. Don was a graduate of the school of hard knocks. He served honorable in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He was a journeyman bricklayer who earned his gold card for 50 years of service. Don worked for Ford Motor Company on English Avenue for 26 years retiring in 1992. He also was employed for 12 years at the Meijer store on East 96th Street. He was an avid bowler who participated in many leagues at Moonlight , Expo, North Eastwood and All Star lanes. He was an active member of Sunnyside Road Baptist Church and former member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Don was a man of his word who taught his children the meaning of hard work and integrity and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother John H. Paff, sister Peggy Smith, brother-in-law Stan Smith, and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Marge (McClarren) Faith. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carol Paff; his six children Donald Paff Jr, Sean (Larry) Jones, Derek (Elizabeth) Paff Sr, Dane Paff , Stacy (Stanley) Jones, and Doug (Tina) Paff; his grandchildren Donald H. Paff III, Carol Jean (Steve) Latham, Kasey (Tim), Kyle (Alison), Derek (Amy) Paff Jr, Drew Paff, Emma Paff, Diana Paff, Michael (Emelia) Paff, Dane Alan Paff, Jeremy Vega, Ashley Jones, Shauna Jones, Stanley Jones II, Austin Paff, Danielle Mueller, Samantha Elliott and Kamil Bayaa; his great grandchildren Stephen Latham, Sydney Latham, Ryan Latham, Renny Latham, Aiden Paff, and Maverick Mueller; sisters-in-law Pat Paff and Chloe Newman; brother-in –law Earl (Debbie) McClarren; nephews Wesley McClarren, Joshua (Kaylyn) McClarren, Travis McClarren, Shane McClarren, Jeff Newman, Scott Paff, Mike (Lou) Smith and Steve Smith; nieces Leslie (Terry) Watson, Karen Paff, Dawn (Steve)Stetler, Jacqi Newman, Debbie (Marty) Hoskins, and Terrie (Roger) Ragan; great nieces Candice Stetler and Lauren Stetler; special daughter Dana Curtis, and extended family Donna Ginther, Marcie and Tracy Hennis, Beth and Brian Ramage, Kristie and Kris Grant, Chase Reese, Josh Ramage, Zach Ramage, Cody Grant, Madison Grant, and Pooh the cat. Visitation will be on Sunday, February27 from 2 to 6pm at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street with services Monday, February 28 , 1pm at the funeral center with Pastor John Dimmick officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunnyside Road Baptist Church.
