Donald 'Ed' Gamble

Donald Edwin "Ed" Gamble, 60, of Noblesville died in his home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. He was born in Indianapolis on August 16, 1954 to Gilbert and Dorothy May (Ware) Gamble. He grew up seven miles southwest of Mooresville, attending Monroe-Gregg schools and graduating from Monrovia High School in 1972. Ed attended Indiana University in Bloomington, received an associate's degree in electrical engineering technology from ITT Tech in 1978, and attended Butler University in Indianapolis. Ed was a pre-sales systems engineer for many years, first for Sun Microsystems and then for Oracle. Blessed with musical talent, he played a variety of musical instruments and composed and synthesized his own music. He also enjoyed working on and driving high-performance cars. Ed had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ed is survived by his wife of 36 years, Virginia Newcomer Gamble, and his son Ryan Gamble of Chicago. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy Gamble, his brother Max Gamble, and his sister Clara Gamble, all of Mooresville.
