Donald "Don" Robertson, 87, Carmel, passed away peacefully January 11, 2015. Don was born September 14, 1927, near Avoca, Indiana to the late Lionel and Zella Alice Spoonmore Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Smith Robertson; three sisters, Phyllis Fry, Bedford, Rose Ann (Randy) Maloney, Midland, Texas, Judith Tindall, Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, William L. Robertson, Indianapolis; and two of his best friends, Glenn Wills and Eldon Berridge.
Survivors include his second wife, Virginia Robertson, Carmel; daughter, Belinda (Rick) Pflueger; granddaughter, Megan Pedersen; grandson, Roger Christian "R.C." Pedersen; four stepsons, Jeffrey, Michael, Jason, and Sherwin Bocade; sisters, Sara Harp, Oolitic, Brenda Stewart, Mooresville, Patty (Mark) Robertson, Ellettsville; several nieces and nephews; and among his best friends, Mike and Janice Baugh.
Robertson served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1947 and later in the U.S. Army. He was the founder and president of ROBCO Distributing, Inc.
Calling will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by Paul Wilbur, world renowned gospel recording artist and worship leader, and the husband of Don's niece, Luanne. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum near Bedford, Indiana.
